A Touch of History:
Inspired by these traditions, the Barnaby Blanket is crafted from premium waxed canvas - a material that has withstood the test of time. Its lineage extends back to sailors and explorers who required robust, weatherproof fabrics. In New Zealand, the evolution of oilskin garments, pioneered by Edward Le Roy, marked a significant leap in outdoor gear, offering protection and flexibility in harsh conditions.
Designed to Last
The Barnaby Blanket, made from heavy-duty 16oz waxed cotton canvas, is not just a product; it’s a piece of history. Designed to endure, it improves with age, gaining character through every adventure. This is gear that stands against the throwaway culture, promising decades of service with proper care.
Care Instructions:
Treating your Barnaby Blanket with care is key to its longevity. Clean it with cold water and mild soap, gently rubbing with a sponge before rinsing. Air drying is essential. Avoid warm or hot water, as it can strip away the wax coating. No machine washing or dry cleaning - hand care is the best way to maintain its protective qualities and unique patina.
Embrace the Patina:
Just like the seafarers of old, your Barnaby Blanket will display its journey through the creases and marks it acquires, a feature unique to waxed canvas. These ‘scars’ aren’t just signs of wear; they’re badges of honor, stories of your adventures written in fabric.
At Underwood Goods, we believe in products that not only serve their purpose but also tell a story. The Barnaby Blanket is more than an accessory; it’s a companion on your journey, growing richer with every use. Embrace its evolving beauty, knowing that with each crease and mark, you’re part of a legacy of exploration and resilience.
